Background in Law Enforcement and Firefighting
Experience
I have a background in first response work after spending four years as a Reserve Police Officer with Enterprise Police Department, two years with the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department and training for EMS work. I also have extensive experience in crisis response work, I am the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Coordinator for Wallowa County and continue to work closely with Law Enforcement on trainings, debriefs and the processing of ongoing trauma associated with the exposure of the profession.
I am an experienced therapist who has a background in both first response and behavioral health.
FAITH
I have a strong faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Becoming a follower of Jesus when I was young, I have continued down the path of what it means to be a Christian.
If you are a Christian, and would like to explore how your faith intersects with your mental health struggles, I would love to foster that experience. Christians still struggle with depression, anxiety, symptoms of PTSD and substance use. As a fellow believer, I am here to walk down that path with you.
MY THERAPUTIC APPROACH
-
EXPLORATION
It all starts by exploring our lives and taking stock of where we are at in life compared to where we would like to be.
-
Identify Goals
Next, we will identify areas of growth so we can create objective goals and an image of what you would like your life to look like.
-
Reflect
The last step? We learn how to continually reflect on our progress and continue to build skill sets needed to build the life we would like to live.
Recognitions
2023 - NW Regional CIT Behavioral Health Practitioner of the Year Award
“Brandon has gone above and beyond in his local community to not only promote but truly live CIT. He has a unique perspective as a MH Clinician who has previously worked in the law enforcement field. He takes time to connect and support his first responders in his local community. This involves providing debriefings to fire/EMS after difficult calls as well as his agency working to provide behavioral health services to first responders free of charge. Brandon has even taken feedback from the community on the need to increase wellness and incoprortated that into his CIT trainings. Brandon truly displays the fundamental values of CIT.”
